Several other companies may offer a basic steam cleaning, or dry method, better known as a simple ‘carpet shampoo’.  In this case the company only shampoos the top 1/4 of the carpet surface. This is done as a steam cleaning method, and in most cases it only soaks the carpet all the way to the padding and creates a mold and mildew problem. The carpets may even stay wet for up to 2 days, so imagine how long your padding stays wet…
